When life is busy, the hardest thing is adding another plan. That is why an at-home ritual should stay small, ideally woven into something you already do: before a shower, before sleep, while tea is steeping, or before the lights go out.

The ten-minute version: an evening return
- Minute 1: put your phone somewhere out of sight.
- Minutes 2–4: wash your hands or soak your feet and notice temperature and texture.
- Minutes 5–7: play a lyric-free piece of music and breathe more slowly.
- Minutes 8–9: write one sentence—“I have done enough for today.”
- Minute 10: turn off one light and let the evening begin.
More important than consistency is kindness.
Missing a day, doing only two minutes, or changing the order does not mean you failed. Ritual is not proof of discipline. It is a reminder that, however the day went, you can return to yourself.
